In the flagship story, "Shine Bright, My Star" tells a story in which a grieving mother gets a unique opportunity to meet a Reaper, who is coming to take her son home. The reaper struggles in their attempt to relate to the grieving human. It offers an interesting perspective on where our loved ones go when they pass on.
"Samael" is a mysterious story about a girl lost somewhere on the astral plane without any knowledge of how she got there. She is greeted by a curious boy with intentions of his own, unbeknownst to her. Is he there to help, or to harm?
In the short story "Dark Box", a wife is presented with an opportunity to start over with another life from a figure that's asking for the ultimate price: her family. All she has to do is hit the switch.
